Leave your car in our sunken car park out of sight and wander down to one of our 15 spacious pitches individually carved out of the long meadow grass. Scattered across three rolling meadows these carefully selected glades provide our guests with a whole half an acre per pitch. Light up your own real campfire using our locally sourced and sustainable firewood, sizzle some of the best local produce over the flames and gaze at the huge skies above as the day turns to night. No need for an alarm clock, the birds song is incredible, make your self at home in our newly installed shower facilities in the converted dairy building (now called the Beehive). We also try and offer you the choice of absolute seclusion, picturesque views or family convenience with proximity to the main building, just select your preference when booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.
The Camping Meadows
The pitches are located across 3 rolling meadows and range from 100 to 400 meters from Reception & the Shower Facilities known as the Beehive.
This sweet little meadow is the closest to the Beehive and the Tree Bog , everything on site is within 100m walk so it’s well suited to families with young children.
The undulating curves of this meadow means it offers the best views and some of the most sheltered pitches at Birds and Bees, just check the description when you’re booking your stay for pitch details.
This is the most secluded meadow, it is the furthest from the Beehive but if it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for there’s no place like Natures way.
Enjoy Just Listening
Just have a listen to all the varieties of birds at our site. These beautiful background sounds are common throughout the day and one of the reasons we named our campsite Birds & Bees, enjoy.

Plush Hot Showers and Toilets
Three separate male, female and family/ disabled rooms provide a total of 5 showers and 5 toilets. Heated by the sun, wind and backed up by a gas top up you don’t have to worry about getting up early for hot water.
The Tree Bog
We have a composting toilet situated mid way between our camping meadows for night time trips to the toilet, drinking water and an electrical hook up.
We provide a selection of trolleys for you to transport your things between the car park and your pitch. Children and adults alike find this fun! We’ll also be around to give you a helping hand with your gear, as it’s important to keep cars off the meadows at all times.
The fallen twigs, logs and leaves around Birds & Bees are an important part of the natural environment, one of our very few rules is to leave them as they lay. We source our firewood locally for you to purchase during your stay and there’s always plenty.
Washing up area with hot water
Microwave (available on request)
Drinking water is available from the tap just outside the kitchen and at the Tree Bog, central to all three meadow.
What’s for supper?
We’re lucky enough to have some of the finest local producing farmers in our county and we’re proud to support their hard work by providing a selection of delicious meat in our Reception freezer at the Beehive. Remember to get it out in the morning so it’s ready for your campfire feast that evening.
We also grow a selection of fresh herbs for you to pick and season your supper with!
And if that wasn’t enough we’ve also been making Luxury Ice Cream for over 30 years and some of our best flavours are available for you to enjoy, yum yum
Although not located at each pitch, there are sockets available in the main building and at the Tree Bog.
We hope by the end of your stay that you’ll have forgotten about the internet, but the signal is decent on most networks at the Beehive with 4G available, you’ll be lucky to get signal down on the camping meadows though. We’re working on getting wifi installed but it might not be available in the 2017 season.
10 minute drive for our local town, Saxmundham with a selection of mainstream shops
There is also good pub grub and a village shop with Cafe, just 1 mile away
